System schema
Acuratic is a service developed by Physter Sport company and was first introduced at the Praha - Karlovy Vary - Praha bicycle race in November 2009. The core of the service is a system that collects data about racers at certain points of the route. The collected data include elapsed time, racers’ position, average speed and bonus results. This information is transmitted to Acuratic server on line where it is by means of a web portal presented textually and graphically showing current position of racers on the map. The visualisation of the race can be viewed on a large screen on site or on the Acuratic web portal.
Now to the technology involved in Acuratic system. Portable measuring units are laid along the route. When turned on the unit retrieves its GPS coordinates and connects to Acuratic server via GPRS mobile network. The unit is equipped with a RFID antenna and a signal reader that records data of a passing racer's chip. In the case of a bicycle race the chip is attached to the bicycle wheel fork. The recorded data is transmitted through GPRS connection to the Acuratic server and displayed immediately in the web interface.
Acuratic is a timing system and a service that is applicable not only in training and racing of professional and top sportsmen but also in amateur racing. The system is suitable for bicycle, running, cross-country skiing, triathlon and similar sports. The added value is seen mainly in simplification of race organization and in providing complete support to all sporting event participants.
